Hello there, let’s take a look at the gorgeous collection from Wana Sambo titled “The Voyage of Mademoiselle Adanna“. The collection which will also be featured at the Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2013 is the fashion labels Spring/Summer Ready-To-Wear 2013 collection represents the quintessential Wana Sambo woman who is classy, sexy, fun and always on the move.

 

The brand has described the WS woman as modern with an artistic edge and an independent eye for style like no other.

 

The runway collection was a mixture of feminine and empowering pieces ranging from dresses, skirts, pants, anorak’s, jackets and tops. Check it out.

Ella & Gabby Collection at MTN LFDW 2013.

The Ella & Gabby collection showcased at the 2013 GTBank LFDW was a continuation of her very much loved Autumn/Winter 2013 collection “Tropical Sophistication“. The pieces came in universal and vibrant colours ranging from black, green, tan, green, pink and red as well as the brands signature Ankara print and beading & embellishments. The runway showcase saw simple and chic dresses as well as other separates consisting of trousers, skirts and tops all beautifully crafted to suit today’s modern and fashionable woman who is no afraid to be the centre of attention.

Wana Sambo’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection: “Naked”

 

The Wana Sambo (WS) Spring/Summer 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection is a cross between vintage work wear and modern daywear borrowing its influence from the 90’s. The collection titled “Naked” will be showcased at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week.

Lanre Da Silva Ajayi : A/W 2013 “Pictorial Expression” Collection

Excitement is in the air as one of our favourite Nigerian-based fashion designer- Lanre DaSilva Ajayi has just released lookbook photos to her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection made specially for the Dolce & Gabbana Spiga Concept Store In Milan, Italy where the brand has been stocking her pieces since the beginning of this year.

The Autumn/Winter 2012 collection tagged “Pictorial Expression” has made use of special fabrics and accessories carefully constructed and placed to show creativity and design talent. Fabrics used for the collection include silk prints, lace and silk Aso-Oke, which have all been artistically crafted with beadings to show abstract designs of a woman’s beauty as well as bring out the patterns of the fabrics.

The weekend is here again and just in case you are out of ideas on what to wear to that birthday party or outing with your clique, you could try this.

 

Yvonne Nelson’s “House of Gold” Premiere

 Yvonne Nelson’s much anticipated movie, House of Gold premiered on Friday at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos. Mai Atafo, a celebrity designer based in Lagos, Nigeria designed her beautiful sheer lace cut out mermaid black dress. The dress was accessorized with a gold bracelet and ring.

The dress had a mix of rose-embellished satin and sequin for the other half of the dress  that just made her glow that evening. I love Mai Atafo’s work and ingenuity! She really dazzled that evening. Also, Venita Akpofure, the video vixen, wore a black chiffon princess black dress that evening. She looked beautiful too.

I just wonder who you think looked more gorgeous.

How to Tie Gele

The Late Adenike Ogungbe shared a very helpful video on how to tie Gele. Every Nigerian woman has to tie one at least once a year to a wedding or church or other numerous events that take place. Every woman, whetherLagosians (eko oni baje..lol) or Igbo or South-South; knows how important it is for one to look exquisite with a perfectly tied headgear.
