The Whole Scoop On Our “Fashpa Day Out” Event

Saturday 12th of July was an awesome day for us! We partnered with luxury boutique ‘Florence H’ and Taittinger champagne to throw one of the baddest shopping events ever! (If we do say so ourselves). The purpose of the event which took place at the Miliki private members lounge in Victoria Island, Lagos was to mingle with fashion editors & bloggers, designers, stylists and of course our wonderful customers. The venue was completely transformed into a fashion haven with a pop up store and a garden lounge area. Our store featured the latest collections from International and Local high street brands like Topshop, TNL and Topstitch as well as an exclusive preview of the Jlabel, the diffusion label from Jewel by Lisa available online at Fashpa.com. Leading luxury boutique, Florence H showcased the best selection of shoes, bags and accessories from Rene Caovilla, Giuseppe Zanotti and YSL from the SS14 Collections to the delight of shoe lovers! Our guests were treated to Taittinger champagne, delicious canapes(and boy were they delicious!), shopping discounts and everyone went home with a goody bag! Gidi Culture Festival Presents Online Documentary

Following the successful 1st Annual Gidi Culture Festival, the organisers have announced plans to return in in 2015. The documentary was screened privately a month ago at Miliki lounge in Lagos and has since been released on different platforms across TV and IPTV in 8 countries (UK, US, France, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya & South Africa)
The first of its kind for many reasons but more notable is the passion for change championed by its organizers. A clear focus to break down the barriers of social class within the industry through the universal language of music saw the first ever beach festival
arrive in Lagos, created with the youth in mind.

Delivering a world-class production whilst drawing upon influences from Glastonbury, Coachella and Made-in-America festivals, its organizers were determined to re-create a festival ambiance- quite simply: sun, beer, music but it was far greater than that, they were changing the face of the music industry for good.

With the release of the documentary, we revisit what the festival has meant for many. It is true, that this is indeed a music festival and by no means is it being disguised as anything other, however it seeks to represent the African entertainment industry- rich in culture and heritage whilst providing a glimmer of hope for its youth of which many are being let down by the system.

Okeke, said, “ All we have wanted to do from the beginning was to make a change in music, an industry we all consume, one way or the other. The maiden edition has set the pace for us and now we are excited to come back next year, bigger and better whilst still being safe yet affordable”.
