Hey fashion lovers…

I must say, it has been a while since I communicated with you. And I must confess I apologize for it all. Apologies really.  I promise to post more and make you happy…

So, have you noticed the emergence of the print, PLAID OR TARTAN.  Apparently, it has become the must-have print in the fashion industry, and I must say, I never thought it would ever evolve, but alas, it has become one of the important pieces one must have in their wardrobes, as there’s something irresistibly naughty about the print in general.  It can however seem a bit prim for some people but if you pair it nicely with the right accessories and makeup, you shouldn t have a problem.

HOW TO WORK IT!!

Less put together is better! Rather than wear the print from head to toe, you can opt for a plaid shirt, buttoned up and pair it with a blazer and jeans. Or you can simply wear a plaid print dress and pair it with nice pumps. To also work the look for the office, you can wear tapered trousers or high heeled tartan pumps.

GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2013: Wana Sambo

 

Hello there, let’s take a look at the gorgeous collection from Wana Sambo titled “The Voyage of Mademoiselle Adanna“. The collection which will also be featured at the Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2013 is the fashion labels Spring/Summer Ready-To-Wear 2013 collection represents the quintessential Wana Sambo woman who is classy, sexy, fun and always on the move.

 

The brand has described the WS woman as modern with an artistic edge and an independent eye for style like no other.

 

The runway collection was a mixture of feminine and empowering pieces ranging from dresses, skirts, pants, anorak’s, jackets and tops. Check it out.

Ella & Gabby Collection at MTN LFDW 2013.

The Ella & Gabby collection showcased at the 2013 GTBank LFDW was a continuation of her very much loved Autumn/Winter 2013 collection “Tropical Sophistication“. The pieces came in universal and vibrant colours ranging from black, green, tan, green, pink and red as well as the brands signature Ankara print and beading & embellishments. The runway showcase saw simple and chic dresses as well as other separates consisting of trousers, skirts and tops all beautifully crafted to suit today’s modern and fashionable woman who is no afraid to be the centre of attention.

Creative director and founder of Demestiks NYC, Reuben Reuel has released his fall 2013 collection, which is a creation of vibrantly-coloured vintage African prints crafted into modern designs.

Duro Olowu : Spring/Summer 2014 Collection Lookbook

Duro has done it again! Giving us a sneak peek at all the fashion goodness to expect in the Summer of 2014, Nigerian fashion designer Duro Olowu presents his 2014 Ready To Wear Spring/Summer Collection.

 

The collection goes crazy with colourful prints in eye popping colours and light & delicate silhouettes that would make the 2014 Summer fashion a breeze. Showcasing his signature patchworks, the pieces from the collection range from dramatic capes to beautiful floral print dresses. According to the designer he wanted to create pieces that were “not too bare, or too short, or too long, that could be worn layered or on its own, and that had a bias-cut fit that just brushed the body“.

 

For some reason I think Eku Edewor would rock the 5th piece perfectly, what do you think?
